DANUBIS.org stands for Danube Utility Benchmarking and Information Sharing. The DANUBIS.org Water Platform is an online repository of resources for and about water supply and sanitation utilities in South-East, Eastern, and Central Europe. DANUBIS.org is jointly managed by the World Bank and IAWD, the International Association of Water Supply Companies in the Danube River Catchment Area.
The DANUBIS.org Water Platform was launched in May 2014 under the Danube Water Program, which is run in partnership between the Word Bank and IAWD, the International Association of Water Supply Companies in the Danube River Catchment Area. The objective of DANUBIS.org is to “develop a regional, public performance indicator system for WSS utilities in the Danube Region, in order to allow for country and utility performance data comparison”.
DANUBIS.org covers all countries with all or part of their territory within the Danube watershed. At present, information about the following countries is included: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, FYR Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
In addition to the performance indicator system, DANUBIS.org serves as a repository for country resources related to the water supply and sanitation sector in Central, Eastern, and South-East Europe, and for utility resources on topics such as energy efficiency, non-revenue water, benchmarking, and asset management.
On DANUBIS.org, water sector organizations can advertise their events and trainings, making the platform a hub for regional knowledge and information. Selected news articles related to water management and current affairs in the region complement the website.
